Oblivion Verses Screening

When protest in a nearby city breaks out and the militia raid a morgue to hide civilian casualties, an elderly caretaker discovers the body of an unknown young woman and embarks on a magical odyssey to give her a proper burial, in the debut feature from Alireza Khatami.

In collaboration with USC School of Cinematic Arts and Farhang Foundation, PACSA invites you to an exclusive screening of Oblivion Verses, a Venice Film Festival award-winner.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the director.


About The Film:
When the elderly caretaker of a remote morgue discovers the body of a young woman killed during a protest, he embarks on a magical odyssey to give her a proper burial before the militia returns.


About The Director:
Alireza Khatami is a writer, director and producer based in the United States and France. Born in Iran, he studied Creative Multimedia in Malaysia and obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree in film production in the United States. He was selected in the 24th session of Cinefondation Residency of the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. He is also an alumnus of the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Talent Lab of the Toronto International Film Festival.
